Upon entering the forest, I killed a Rider Goblin and just killed it’s mount. I now pulled out my sword from the Mantissar’s skull, and faced the rest of the group.

Slowly, I raised my shield and activated Physical Enhancement in my whole body. I usually pushed this magic up to Tier 2 or 3 against average monsters, but doing so may leave Energy traces on me. I spat on the ground and only activated it to Tier 1.

They both met the same fate as their deceased comrade, their heads rolled at my feet. Once freed from their master, I attacked the remaining Mantissars. I beheaded the first one with a mere slash at it’s neck. But when I approached the second one, one of the Mantikons growled. Right after, my opponent hissed and started to furiously swing it’s sickles at me.

I evaluated it’s movement’s speed and, once sure of myself, I proceeded to slip through the monster’s guard, between the two slashes.

But in the middle of my jump, the monster’s sickles became blurry, and a sharp whistle cames from them. While in mid-air, I raised my shield against my left flank and raised my sword vertically outward on my right. The next second, my body was shaken by two tremors. A sharp pain cames from my right flank while pieces of my sword shattered around. Luckily, before breaking, the sword absorbed most of the impact. But still, I’m now trapped between this piece of shit’s sickles. And it broke my fucking sword. This fucker’s face was now at less than a meter away from me.

I throw what little remained of my sword at the Mantissar’s face, crushing one of it’s eyes. Right after that I released myself and grabbed the sickle that grazed me and broke it’s articulation with my knee. I then proceeded to pull it out with all my force, separating the limb from the rest of the body.

Green blood showered on the ground while my enemy scrambled around in panic, forgetting my presence. I got behind him and cut his hind legs with the sickle.

The Mantissar fell on the ground. I jumped on it’s back and stabbed it repeatedly, again and again, enjoying the sound and scent of it’s blood splattering around and on my face. After a dozen of hits, I got down on my feet and proceeded to break all of its remaining legs before severing them using the shield’s edge. Once done, I punched the back of the monster’s head. He growled and slummped on the ground, unconscious.

I slowly walked through the town. It looked like some Revenants managed to get in and a perimeter was set around the Guild’s building. I halted nearby, whispered, and turn back, walking towards the blacksmith workshop in order to replace my sword.

As I walked, I looked at all the Revenant’s corpses dispersed here and there, sometimes covering the remains of an adventurer. Most houses and buildings outside the perimeter were damaged, most streets were also covered in boulders and blood.
